There is a growing trend for UK property owners to invest in
oak or white bedroom furniture at present, it has been
claimed.

A spokesman for bedroom furniture manufacturer Harrison Brothers
said shades of oak and white are coming to the fore as many people
look to follow the major trends in fashion that has seen a shift
away from minimalism in the home in recent years.

He commented: "People are spending a little bit on their homes
because they are not moving or can't move. While they are stuck
where they are, they want to make it a little bit nicer."

The company representative added that Brits are currently very
price conscious, but this is not putting them off from updating
their beds and other bedroom furniture
to make this room both stylish and comfortable.

Meanwhile, research from Saga recently showed that up to 3.7
million over-50s across the UK are planning to spend on updating
their home over the coming months.

According to the findings, 47 per cent of UK over-50s plan to make
major alterations to modernise their property.
