how often to wash duvet

You should wash your duvet every 6-12 months as your duvet cover works to protect and keep it clean in-between. If there’s been a spillage or soiling, wash it sooner.

how to dry a duvet

You should air dry your duvet in a well-ventilated space, shaking it often to ensure the filling is redistributed throughout, and to prevent damp build-up. Always make sure your duvet is completely dry before using or storing it.

can you tumble dry a duvet?

If your duvet instructs this, some duvets can be tumble dried on a low or gentle heat. However, air drying is better for filling distribution.

how to wash a duvet

Always read the care label on your duvet to check if it’s suitable for putting in the washing machine. If it’s not, you can spot wash your duvet to remove any stains and freshen it up. You can also vacuum it to remove dust, grime and odours. For more stubborn stains, take a damp cloth and stain remover to gently clean away.

what is tog in duvets?

A duvet's tog rating relates to its warmth. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet will be. For example, a 2.5 to 7 duvet tog is perfect for spring and summer while 10.5 to 13.5 is ideal for autumn and winter.

what tog duvet do I need?

You should choose your duvet tog based on the season, whether you get warm or cold easily during the night and your preferences overall. The higher the tog, the warmer you’ll be; so, if you tend to get night sweats, you’d be better off with a low tog. On the other hand, well-insulated higher togs are ideal if you prefer to stay cosy.

what's the highest tog duvet?

In the UK, the highest tog duvet you can get is 18 tog, which is very well insulated and ideal for winter nights. However, 13.5-5 is usually fine for most people, even when the temperatures have dropped.
