What type of mattress do I need?

In short: you need just one type of mattress, with a choice of 3 comfort choices for the ideal match. It's that simple.

The Studio mattress has over 70 years of research and know-how behind it, so we know a bit about getting the perfect night's sleep.

Our final Studio mattress design is brilliantly simple and consists of a few key elements, while the rest is down to your own personal comfort choice (more of that later).

Firstly, a Studio mattress moves as you move thanks to a fusion of gel molecules, foam crystal and air cells. While this concoction sounds like some Harry Potter wizardry, it's simply just science, and helps distribute your weight evenly. This alleviates pressure and supports your spine to sooth away aches and pain, while the open cell structure allows air to pass through the mattress to make sure you don't get overheated on stuffy summer nights.

At the heart of your Studio mattress is Studio Flex - a tailored foam that's lighter than traditional springs, but just as resilient. This is where your comfort comes into play as the foam matches the comfort rating (softer, medium, and firmer) you choose.

Finally, allergy sufferers can also enjoy that fresh-bed-feeling every night as the Studio mattress comes with an Allergy UK approved anti-allergy cover to tackle dust-mites.

Why do you offer 3 different comfort ratings?

We like to keep things simple here at Studio. That's why we offer one mattress with three comfort choices, so you can land a beautifully snug mattress, without all the complicated bits in-between.

So what comfort level is best for you?

Softer: If you're petite, or prefer sleeping on your side, then opting for a softer mattress will do the trick. The soft and indulgent cushioning is perfect for nodding-off blissfully into sleep.

Firmer: Maybe you like more support when you sleep? Or perhaps you sleep on your front or back? If so, a firmer mattress is what you need. It'll also suit those of a larger stature, with a solid base for extra-support.

Medium: The Goldilocks of mattresses. If you're not after something that's either on the soft or firm side, then plump for medium - it'll be just right.

What’s the difference between standard memory foam and gel infused foam?

One of the biggest customer complaints about memory foam is that you sink into them - so we developed a gel infused foam mattress to solve that conundrum.

Basically, thanks to a mix of gel molecules, foam crystals and air cells, the mattress surface 'bounces-back' into shape and responds to the natural contours of your body. This ensures the surface doesn't sink in awkward place, which can lead to morning aches and pains.

What is gel infused foam?

This is where the magic happens.

Geltex is a comfort layer that consists of gel molecules, foam crystals and air cells, which combine to give you:

Unparalleled breathability: if you're tired of getting hot and bothered through the night, you'll love this part. Basically, Geltex's open cell structure passes air through the mattress to prevent overheating and improve breathability.

An end to aches and pains: a bumpy, uncomfortable mattress is a pain in the back. Literally. With Geltex, you'll experience first-class comfort from tip to toe as the flexible Geltex layer distributes body weight evenly and alleviates pressure points where you need it most to aid aching joints and combat circulatory problems.

Tailored support: We're all unique and our sleeping styles are no different. Geltex is made from innovative elastic fibres with intuitive 'spring back' properties that react to the individual contours of your body for optimal spinal alignment throughout the night. Welcome to a tailored approach to comfort.

What is Studio Flex?

We offer 3 different comfort ratings to suit different sleepers: softer, firmer and medium.

This is thanks to clever Studio Flex technology.

Studio Flex is a high density foam that occupies the core of the mattress to give tailored support to your body shape.

While it's lighter than traditional springs, don't underestimate it - it's just as resilient and will give you the perfect base for a snug night's sleep.

Is this mattress suitable for allergy sufferers?

It is indeed. And it even comes endorsed by Allergy UK!

On top of the mattress is a soft-touch cover with a cosy knitted finish that tackles dust-mites, so you can breathe freely and wake up fully refreshed. Bliss.

I have back pain. Can a Studio mattress help with this?

A bad mattress exacerbates back pain: causing discomfort and restlessness. The Studio mattress has been cleverly designed to combat and alleviate aches and pains as you sleep.

It contains gel infused foam that moves the way you do to give your spine continued support. It also contours itself to the shape of your body to reduce pressure points and prevent the mattress sinking uncomfortably.

Delivery

Delivery

How will my bedframe be delivered?

If you order directly through us we'll work around you and call beforehand to make arrangements. Just keep in mind that the process may be a little different when ordering through another retailer.

How will my mattress be delivered?

When ordered as a mattress alone we'll deliver it to you in a box sized: 39 x 39 x 100.5 (cm) for a single mattress or 50.5 x 45 x 106.2 for a double or king sized mattress, so it's really convenient.

We use a special machine that rolls the mattress tight and pops it in a box before being sent out for delivery (for free!) direct to your door. When it arrives, simply unroll and let the mattress breathe and expand for up to 24hrs before hopping on for your first night of many amazing sleeps.

Important: Just keep in mind our super king mattresses do need special treatment, so will be delivered 'as-is' and not rolled-up or in a box. It does mean though that as soon as it arrives you can pop it on your bed straight away, ready for your own personal comfort test.

Do you offer next day delivery?

Order through our official store by 2pm and you'll not only get your goods the next working day, but we'll also deliver them for free!

Note: If you're ordering through another retailer, please check their delivery options before you order as they may vary.

Will my mattress and bed be shipped together?

If you order the full-set - mattress, bed and headframe - then we'll ship them all together, so you can get set-up faster.

The mattress will arrive flat, as opposed to being in a box, while the bedframe (storage included) will arrive in 2 halves and the headboard in one piece.

How much is delivery?

Delivery is everyone's favourite price: FREE. Plus, if you order by 1pm, you'll get free next day delivery thrown into the mix too.

What are the mattress’ box dimensions?

Our mattresses come delivered in handy boxes straight to your door. The dimensions of the box are:

  • Single: 39 x 39 x 100.5cm
  • Double / King: 50.5 x 45 x 106.2cm

Please note: this excludes super king mattresses that need special treatment and come delivered flat, ready to go straight onto your bed.

What’s the 60-day comfort trial?

Like test driving a car, or trying on clothing, we believe you really need to get close to your mattress to make sure it's the one for you. That's why when you buy a Studio mattress we want you to sleep on it - literally.

We offer all customers 60 days after purchase to get cosy with their mattress to make sure they're completely happy with their purchase.

Whatever the quibble, if you're not totally satisfied within the first 60-days you can send your mattress back for an exchange, no questions asked.

Can I return my mattress for a refund?
