We spend a lot of time making our bedrooms 'sleep-havens' at
home, with a good mattress and personal comforts in abundance. But
where can you get the best night's sleep when on the move?
A recent TripAdvisor survey has released a list of hotels voted
best in its 'sleep quality' category to coincide with the UK Sleep
Council's National Bed Month, finding that a hotel in the
Westcountry to be at the top of the pack.
The Elmdene in Torquay was voted the seventh best hotel in terms
of the quality of sleep it offers, and was also named the third
best hotel for service in the UK. Hotel owner Carol Giggs said the
hotel's popularity was a result of "getting the right balance" in
terms of quality and price point. High standards of cleanliness is
something they strive to achieve, and is clearly important in
making the guest feel comfortable and at home.
TripAdvisor spokesman Emma Shaw said: "A good night's sleep can
make all the difference to your wellbeing, as well as your holiday
and overall impression of a hotel. The guest feedback on
TripAdvisor speaks for itself, these properties have all been tried
and tested, and pass the all-important sleep test with flying
