Reading a book together before going to bed is among the most
popular activities for British families, according to a recent
survey.

Feather and Black's poll found that 43 per cent of families named
relaxing with a good read as their favourite evening pastime,
instead of watching television on the sofa.

In addition, 50 per cent of women said snuggling up on a good mattress to read to their children is their preferred way of
spending time at night.

Other cherished activities for families to enjoy together included
playing on a games console, playing with toys and drawing.

"It's great to see from the poll that British parents love reading
to the kids before they go to sleep," Adam Black, managing director
at Feather and Black.

"We hope British families continue to treasure their time together
and ensure those special moments are adored forever," he
added.

Child psychologist Emma Kenny recently stressed the importance of
parents establishing a regular bedtime routine for their children
to ensure they relax before sleep.
