In honour of all the hard work
carried out by our amazing Silentnight employees, Olympic athlete,
Jo Pavey, rewarded workers this week as she paid a visit to the
Silentnight Headquarters, based in Barnoldswick.
Following a successful initial
launch of the Achievements marketing campaign, it seemed only right
to bring the inspiring celebration of success to the home of
Silentnight Group in Lancashire. The campaign, which is all about
recognising what can be achieved after a great night's sleep, saw
Jo inspiring workers by talking to them about her experiences,
whilst taking a tour of the factory and presenting employees with
awards for their achievements.
The achievements awards are part of
a new nomination scheme where staff put forward team members who
have achieved great things in or out of work. Both Jo and the
senior team at Silentnight were extremely impressed and inspired to
know such outstanding achievements were taking place, from the
Three Peaks Challenge to being a volunteer blood biker, all the
nominations were very strong.
Our sleep expert, Dr Nerina
Ramlakhan, also joined us on the day, talking to staff about how to
sleep better and inviting employees to attend one-to-one sleep
clinics. As a physiologist, sleep therapist, author and consultant
for more than 20 years, Nerina has brought a wealth of sleep
expertise to the campaign.
Jo's experiences were also well
received by staff, with many applauding her for being the oldest
woman ever to claim gold at a European Championships, at the age of
41 and just 11 months after giving birth to her second
The Olympic athlete said: "I've
really enjoyed meeting the team here at Silentnight. Getting to
know the employees and seeing how hard they work has been really
inspiring - I had no idea of the technical ability and effort that
goes into making a bed! It is very clear that employees play an
essential role in ensuring Silentnight continues to thrive as a
successful UK manufacturing business. It has been an honour to come
here and reward them for their achievements."
Nick Booth, Marketing Director at
Silentnight, said: "Jo Pavey was the obvious choice for the
ambassador of our Achievements campaign. It has been fantastic to
welcome her to Barnoldswick and show her what we achieve here, and
for her to help us reward our team's success internally.
"Jo and Nerina are both very
inspiring, I hope between the two we have managed to show our
employees how valued they are whilst celebrating their hard work
and commitment both in and out of the business. I would like to
thank them both for allowing us to launch the campaign internally,
at the home of everything we do."
