A new world record for human dominoes has been set with the aid
of hundreds of mattresses.
Domino lovers in China have set a new world record of 1,001
individuals taking part in a human domino event, with each
participant supported by a mattress at their back to ensure
they do not injure themselves when tumbling.
An unnamed organiser of the record attempt told those in
attendance at the stunt, which took place in Shanghai last week:
"All the participants, from the first to the last, must act like
one person, and that is dominoes.
"Then it must be accurate. The mattresses must be evenly arranged.
It's one of the characteristics of dominoes."
Earlier this year, a new world record for human dominoes was set
in New Orleans in the US, with 850 individuals taking part.
Set in February, the record stood for little over five months
before tumbling like the dominoes on which it was based.
