People who spend a lot of time on their computers and
smartphones are more at risk of suffering sleep disorders.

This is according to new research from the University of
Gothenburg, which suggested heavy users of such devices may find it
difficult to switch off once they get in bed, the Daily Mail reports.

Concerns about the effects of technology are growing among experts
as young people become increasingly accustomed to the constant flow
of information from internet-connected devices.

The study involved a large group of men and women aged between 19
and 28 years, who were asked to provide details of their computer
and mobile phone use.

After analysis by the Swedish researchers, the results
demonstrated a clear link between heavy computer and mobile phone
use and disturbed sleep.

The study follows recent research from the University of Wisconsin
School of Medicine and Public Health, which made a link between the
condition known as sleep disordered breathing and increased cancer
risk.
