How can your mattress improve sleep quality and combat back pain?

One of the key elements of quality rest is the surface you lie on. This is because you need a surface that supports your body throughout the night and allows your spine to naturally realign.

In a study conducted at UCLan’s Allied Health Research Unit we put our zoned mattresses to the test against non-zoned alternatives to measure the impact of zoning on spinal alignment.

What did the study reveal?

Results came back conclusive, and revealed the link between healthy spinal alignment and the mattress you choose.

Results showed that - as well as scoring highest on comfort, firmness and overall preference - zoned mattresses also outperformed non-zoned mattresses on neutral spinal alignment.

Researchers discovered that it’s “clear changing a single variable (the type of zoning) can clearly affect an individuals’ wellbeing by putting them in a more “at risk” posture”.
