Top interior design tips for beds and mattresses

Top interior designer tips for buying beds and mattresses have recently been compiled by the Wall Street Journal, with designers offering help on what the newspaper described as 'the most personal of selections'.
How people perceive mattress comfort is always different, but what does stay constant is that mattress comfort is always a number one priority. Other factors, such as style and budget, also feature in the selection process, which interior designers find to be the most personal choice of all.
The depth of the mattress is an important consideration to make, according to New York-based interior designer Eve Robinson. This can affect both the personal comfort and the aesthetic properties of the room, and it is highlighted as an important choice in relation to the room's dynamics. Ms Robinson said buyers should: "Keep in mind that mattress thicknesses affect the bed height."
The bed height is important in relation to what style you are looking to achieve. The traditional styles, which are based around notions of comfort and warmth, should opt for a thicker mattress to accentuate the bed.
On the other hand, contemporary designs are focussed around functionality, and therefore mattresses like the platform mattress should be used to make the bed look accessible and simple.
