Keep an eye on baby''s bedroom temperature
22/12/2011
When you've first welcomed a baby into the home, there are a million and one things you have to bear in mind to keep them safe.
There will come a time when they sleep in their own children's bed in a separate room, which is when parents need to think about what temperature the bedroom should be at.
Having a room that is too cold or too hot will leave the infant uncomfortable and unable to doze off, leading to all manner of problems.
The NHS warns that an over-heated room can increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
As a result, experts advise that the temperature should be between 16 and 20 degrees C, as this will enable the child to sleep without posing a risk to their health.
It is also worth considering what bedding you are using for your child, as this can play just as big a role in how hot or cold they are during the night.
