Michael Jackson''s bed not up for auction
17/11/2011
A bed belonging to the late Michael Jackson will not be going under the hammer, Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles has revealed.
The bed, which was believed to be part of a wider sale of items, was never available for the public to buy, despite reports to the contrary.
However, the auction house has also now pulled the star's over-sized headboard from the sale, which still nevertheless contains other items from his 100 North Carolwood Drive residence.
President of Julien's Auctions Darren Julien told the Associated Press: "This item is the only portion of the bed that had been listed for auction, and no part of the bed remains for sale."
He revealed that the headboard had been removed from the collection at the request of the estate of Michael Jackson.
Furthermore, the mattress on the star's bed remains the property of the estate and was also never included in the auction on December 17th.
