Promote great sleep with the right mattress

Being able to sleep well at night often depends on a person's choice of mattress, one expert has identified.
The only way to get a decent night's shut-eye is to purchase a mattress that offers the best comfort possible, noted Marianne J Davey, director of the British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association.
However, she identified that good sleep hygiene is just as important as selecting the right bed and mattress.
"Keep the bedroom warm but not hot, go to bed at the same time every night, don't eat, drink alcohol or smoke for at least four hours before bed," recommended Ms Davey.
Anyone who finds that external noise keeps them awake at night should try investing in some earplugs, added the expert.
Experts from the School of Life Sciences at Northumbria University have found that drinking cherry juice could help improve sleep in those who suffer from insomnia.
