Drowsy driving is all too common

Motorists throughout the US are not spending the time in bed they need to be safe on the road, a new survey has revealed.
Conducted by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) and the AAA Foundation, the poll showed that 96 per cent of Americans think it is unacceptable for people to drive while excessively tired.
However, around a third of Americans admitted to doing just that at some point in the past 30 days.
David Cloud, chief executive officer of the NSF, explained that anyone who drives while tired runs the risk of falling asleep for just a few seconds.
"If that happens at 65 miles an hour, you could drive the length of a football field in an unconscious state," he commented.
Mr Cloud also revealed that people are more deprived of sleep than ever as they work longer hours and have multiple jobs.
