Women experience ''fatigue epidemic''

01/11/2011

Women experience ''fatigue epidemic'' Women are not spending as much time on their mattresses as they should, which is gradually taking its toll on their looks, the Sleep Council has found.

One in ten women admitted that they feel so tired that it influences their appearance on a daily basis, with the major signs being shadows under the eyes and washed out, pasty skin.

Other effects include bags under the eyes, which is experienced by a third of those questioned.

When asked what the best solution was to looking and feeling better, 94 per cent suggested it was getting a good night's sleep, although only 45 per cent will head to bed for an early night.

Jessica Alexander of the Sleep Council commented: "Women spend hundreds of pounds a year on cosmetics that cover the signs of fatigue yet a new bed could be the best possible remedy and costs just pence per night."
