Bedtime reading could help settle kids
17/10/2011
Reading to youngsters as they lie in their children's beds is a great way of calming them down before it is time to sleep.
Bedtime is often a stressful time in any household, so finding sure-fire ways of encouraging the kids to settle down can be tough.
Reading is well known for helping to calm children down, as it does not over-stimulate them at a time when they should be winding down.
Many youngsters watch TV or play computer games before they head to bed, which can make them over-excited and therefore prolong the amount of time it takes them to doze off.
Hugh Jackman recently revealed in an interview with Entertainmentwise that he was forced to use the script to his latest film as bedtime reading for his 11-year-old son.
The Real Steal star admitted he had not looked over it until he was told he was meeting the film's director.
