Celebrities lend voices to bedtime stories
05/10/2011
Various celebrities have signed up to lend their voices to new audio books aimed at getting people to sleep better in bed at night.
Colin Firth, Meg Ryan, Susan Sarandon and Kim Basinger are among those believed to be signed up for the project, which has been organised by Audible.com.
Other participants include Jennifer Connolly, who will read Paul Bowles' The Sheltering Sky, while Dustin Hoffman will recite Jerzy Kosinski's Being There.
Nicole Kidman will be responsible for reading Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse, as Naomi Watts records Summer by Edith Wharton.
It recently emerged that the Jurys Inn chain of hotels was launching an e-book reader loan service for the convenience of its customers.
The books will be pre-loaded with a selection of short stories so visitors do not have to carry large books in their bags when they check into the hotels.
