Tackle bad bedtime habits in kids
03/10/2011
Teaching kids the importance of a great night's sleep from a young age is something that will stay with them for years to come.
Spending time in children's beds may not seem appealing for some youngsters, especially when there are so many more interesting things to be doing.
Staying up to play on the computer or watch TV is likely to be all the more appealing to youngsters than spending hours tucked up in bed.
However, establishing a consistent bedtime routine is important, as it will encourage kids to get the sufficient amount of shut-eye they need to be well rested and function properly during the day.
Youngsters who do not get enough sleep often experience a range of problems, such as the inability to focus at school.
Experts from the University of South Australia recently found that kids who go to bed and wake up early are generally leaner than those who stay up late.
