Colour therapy could complement bedroom decor
23/09/2011
When decorating the area around a bed, the choice of colour can have more of an impact on a person's ability to sleep than they may think.
Humans have an emotional response to colour, which means they are attracted to some tones while showing a particular dislike for others.
Warm colours such as red and deep purple are generally advised in the bedroom, especially during the cooler months of the year, as they express a feeling of comfort.
In warmer climes, cool shades such as pale blues and white could be just as effective in cooling the body down as opting for a lightweight duvet.
The tip with bedrooms is to use colour sparingly, as over-complicated patterns can make it harder for the mind to wind down at the end of a hectic day.
Barbara Heilmann, certified interior designer, recently told northjersey.com that muted colour schemes are starting to make a comeback in people's homes.
