UK parents ''fail to recognise'' importance of a good mattress

Children need a good quality mattress in order to sleep soundly at night, but it seems that many parents are failing to realise just how essential this is.
A study carried out by the UK's Sleep Council and the Better Sleep Council from the US shows that there are quite different attitudes towards children's sleeping habits across the world.
In the US, 90 per cent of parents were found to consider their child's mattress as an essential part of helping them sleep soundly, compared to 60 per cent in the UK.
Furthermore, nearly half of parents in the US believe their kids get better grades at school because they rest properly - a figure that falls to less than a quarter among UK parents.
Jessica Alexander from the Sleep Council told Female First: "In the UK, sleep has not yet been given equal status with diet and exercise as being fundamental to health and wellbeing."
