Improve children''s sleep in a few easy steps
19/08/2011
There are several steps that can be taken in order to enhance the quality of kids' sleep as they try to rest in their children's beds.
Making sure they avoid caffeine is essential, otherwise they will be so wired that sleep is practically an impossibility.
Encouraging youngsters to exercise is important for helping them to wind down at the end of the day, as it wears the body out and makes it easier for the mind to switch off.
One of the common reasons for interrupted sleep is the temperature of the bedroom being too hot or too cold.
Having the room at a pleasant temperature is therefore more conducive to rest, as is matching the type of bed linen to the current season.
Lastly, knowing how much sleep children actually need it important, because this will help parents recognise when is the best time to encourage them to go to bed.
