Hot nights can make sleeping a chore

Dozing off in bed during hot nights can be especially hard, but there are ways in which people can improve their quality of rest.
Knowing which bed linen to choose is one of the easiest ways to cool down, as a thick duvet will only cause the body to sweat more, therefore making resting more difficult.
A lightweight bed sheet may therefore be preferable, as it gives the feeling of being covered up but will help keep the body cool.
People also need to think hard about what bed-wear they choose; flannelette pyjamas are unlikely to be conducive to a good night's rest during especially hot periods.
Natural materials such as cotton are generally the best option because they enable cool air to circulate more effectively around the body.
Lastly, keeping a window open during the night is important during warm periods as it will enable the room to be properly ventilated.
