Bedroom design must have calming qualities
11/08/2011
Bedroom design projects should always bear in mind the purpose of the space - for sleeping in.
Opting for too many bright and garish colours can make it difficult to rest in bed at night, which is something that needs to be considered when investing in a new tin of paint.
This does not mean, however, that a bedroom should only be decorated in white and beige, as colours can have just as much of a calming influence if they are selected properly.
Among the top trends of the moment is plum, which can easily be complemented with white and other neutral tones to really make it stand out.
Design company owner Adrienne Chinn recently recommended using accessories to make a bed appear more interesting.
She suggested that people are now more inclined to make design decisions that accurately reflect their personalities.
