Demand for mattress recycling leads to business expansion
05/08/2011
Mattress recycling services offered by one company have proved so popular that it is seeking to expand its operations.
Shropshire-based JBS Fibre Recovery is hoping to launch a series of plants throughout the country after its Telford facility received large levels of interest.
The company makes every effort to avoid landfill and as a result it recycles, reuses or generates energy with all the materials it collects.
John Neill, director of JBS Fibre Recovery, commented: "Thanks to our Telford centre, over 600 tonnes of waste have already been diverted from landfill in the last three months, an achievement that surpassed even our own high expectations."
He emphasised that the success of the site has encouraged the firm to install new regional hubs throughout the country, with the first unveiled in Milton Keynes last month.
Mr Neill revealed that another centre will be opening in Bradford in October this year.
