A new comfortable bed may improve work-life function

Investing in a new, more comfortable bed or mattress to help improve sleep could be key to people's ability to perform at their best throughout their working day.
Too little or poor sleep can severely affect people's ability concentrate and perform fine motor tasks, according to social psychologist Dr Sandra Wheatley.
People who regularly have broken sleep will often complain about lack of concentration and forgetfulness, she warns, adding that it can also affect social interactions.
"It affects people's ability to hold conversations, to be lucid," Dr Wheatley explained. "People who have broken nights of sleep quite frequently are grumpy, that is something which I think most people intuitively understand."
Recent research carried out by scientists at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center indicated that a minimal amount of uninterrupted sleep each night is required to support memory processes, regardless of sleep intensity.
