Kids'' bedtime can prove a battle
26/07/2011
Bed is one of the places that most kids do not like to be, especially when there are so many other exciting things to be doing.
However, parents must make sure they do not give up on the battle to encourage youngsters to get into their children's beds, otherwise a range of consequences could arise.
Scientists have long been keen on assessing the impact of a lack of sleep on people's health, with studies showing that a range of serious medical conditions can arise.
A selection of recent studies have shown that high blood pressure, anxiety, depression and diabetes can all be either triggered or made worst from a lack of shut-eye.
Establishing a routine is one of the best ways to get kids to doze off, so this may involve reading them a bedtime story, giving them a glass of warm milk or playing soothing music.
