Think carefully about summer holiday sleep patterns

Keeping kids up past their bedtimes over the summer holidays may seem like a good idea at the time, but it may prove problematic once school starts again.
Youngsters enjoy staying out of their children's beds for as long as possible, which can be a major source of annoyance for their parents.
Allowing kids to stay up past their bedtime for the odd night or two will not have much of an impact on their sleep patterns, but making a habit of it will make the trend hard to reverse.
Although six weeks may seem like an eternity for little ones, September will come around sooner than many people think, meaning children will have to be out of bed early once again.
Psychiatrist and psychotherapist Tracey Marks recently told the Huffington Post that parents should ensure their offspring get enough sleep for their age during the summer holidays.
