Parents should always invest in the safest children's bed possible to ensure their youngsters are secure at all times.
For example, cots with drop sides are often advised against, as the moving parts could lead to little fingers becoming trapped or a host of other accidents.
Experts also tend to recommend that parents buy a mattress that fits well to the size of the cot, as any gaps could pose all sorts of problems.
Second-hand children's beds may create hidden dangers, so it is usually suggested that people get their hands on new models so they can address any concerns with the manufacturer.
Parents were recently told by the Seattle Children's Research Institute to avoid exposing their kids to violent images before bedtime, as it can severely disrupt their sleep patterns.
Children who watched content that was suitable for their age experienced no sleep difficulties.
