Australian executives forego beds for charity

Australia has seen a number of its top business figures giving up their beds for the night in favour of sleeping on the street.
Among those taking part was Australian foreign minister Kevin Rudd, who was among those sleeping rough to help raise cash for the homeless.
CEO Sleepout is an annual event held at a number of locations throughout the country, attracting big names from major banks, law firms and mining companies.
Millions of Australian dollars have been raised from this latest event, which will be donated a variety of homeless charities.
It recently emerged from research carried out by Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey that people who do not sleep well in their beds are at greater risk of craving foods high in carbohydrates.
"This study is important given the rising epidemic of obesity among teens as well as increasing metabolic syndrome and diabetes among young adult populations," commented lead investigator Dr Mahmood Siddique.
