Natural fabrics ''best in the bedroom''
23/05/2011
Homeowners need to invest in natural fabrics for their beds in order to give them the best chance of a great night's sleep, one expert has indicated.
TV interior designer Linda Barker said that "anything else simply doesn't come close" to natural materials, mainly because they enable the skin to breathe during the night.
White sheets are a popular design choice because they will complement anything, she noted, but they can be brightened up with a throw for an instant dash of colour.
Additional interest can be added by placing a rug at the foot of the bed, Ms Barker suggested as she spoke on behalf of Cotton USA, which she described as a "wonderful way of defining an area".
Fellow interior designer Jo Hamilton recently explained that homeowners are keen to add some personality to their bedrooms, so many choose to invest in one-of-a-kind pieces.
