Kids need assurance when moving to their first bed

Kids need assurance when moving to their first bed There comes a time when every child will need to move from their cot into a bed, although how to approach it can be difficult for parents.

Making the transition as simple as possible is the ultimate aim, which may involve explaining to the youngster why it is time for them to leave their cot behind.

Giving them a few trial nights in their new bed may also prove beneficial, as this will help give a guideline of how they will cope with a full move.

Tricks such as putting the bed in the same place as the cot may also work, as could encouraging the child to help select bed linen for their new sleeping place.

It was recently announced that CBeebies has a revised programming schedule for early evenings, which is designed to show children familiar characters before they go to sleep.

Among the popular shows on offer will be In the Night Garden and the Bedtime Story.
