Mattress record attempt aims to raise charity funds

An Australian man has come up with a rather ingenious way of raising cash for charity, during which he hopes to break a world record.
Rob Bauer is hoping to line up around 550 mattresses before tumbling one into another in a bid to beat the current Guinness World Record of 500 held by Sweden.
Spectators are welcome at the event, which is scheduled for July 17th at 06:00 local time at the Harvey Norman car park in Bundaberg, the Central Telegraph reports.
"We are also asking people to bring mattresses - the minimum size is 180 centimetres by 80 centimetres," commented Mr Bauer.
Such restrictions have been put in place for safety reasons in case the domino effect does not go quite to plan.
A similar attempt was made in Newcastle last year, where 400 people cascaded on to each other with only their mattress to cushion the fall.
