Anyone who suffers from aches and pains after they get into bed should think about investing in a new mattress, an expert has said.
A worn out bed is unlikely to provide the support a person's needs as they sleep, noted the Sleep Council's Jessica Alexander, meaning it is time to invest in a new one.
"Research shows that after six to ten years your mattress may have deteriorated by as much as 70 per cent," she told the Daily Mirror.
Some of the best signs that a mattress as had its day is if it sags in the middle or feels lumpy, or if it creaks as a person tosses and turns, Ms Alexander explained.
An article for the Pakistani Daily Mail recently emphasised that people need to take their time when it comes to selecting a new mattress, especially given how much time will be spent on it.
