Couples must buy beds together
21/02/2011
Bed buying for couples is something that needs to be undertaken together, an expert ha explained.
Each person will have their own different requirements, noted Jan Turner, a spokesperson for the Sleep Council, so these need to be accommodated when purchasing a new bed.
She stressed that lying on a bed alone can be quite different to when it is shared with someone else, especially if they are decidedly heavier or lighter.
"Don't just perch your bottom on the edge of the bed you like in the store, really lie down and try it out and feel it," Ms Turner highlighted.
Research from Warwick Medical School recently found that prolonged sleep deprivation and disrupted sleep patterns can have long-term, serious health implications.
Strokes, heart attacks and cardiovascular disorders were all found to be more prominent in those who do not rest properly.
