Bed tests are essential

Buying a brand new bed without testing it out first is a big mistake, one expert has suggested.
A bed is such a personal item of furniture that it is simply not possible for anyone else to choose it, noted Sleep Council spokeswoman Jan Turner.
"What we would say is go to a good store where you feel they have got a really good wide selection of beds, where the staff seem knowledgeable and helpful," she continued.
Ms Turner suggested that by trying out lots of different beds, it will be easier to establish which are the best and worst for a person's needs.
If the bed is going to be shared with someone else, she recommended taking them along to the showroom as a mattress can feel incredibly different when two people are on it.
According to a survey from YouGov, 51 per cent of people in the UK say that think they get less sleep then they need.
