Mattress sales expected to remain strong
14/02/2011
Expectations remain strong for mattress manufacturers over the coming months, Furniture Today has revealed.
Consumers were still keen to purchase mattresses in 2010, it suggested, with the trend looking set to continue throughout 2011.
"Retailers were looking to make changes. They are looking for ways to improve their business this year," commented Stuart Carlitz, chief executive officer of Eclipse and Eastman House.
People are also keen to get their hands on bed accessories, with mattress and pillow protectors among the favourites at the moment, the article said.
Bed firms are recognising the need to offer quality products to their consumer base, while also enhancing their comfort as they sleep, noted director of sales and marketing at DreamFit Bob Pearce.
An article for the Canadian Press recently suggested that couples may benefit from having separate mattresses if they find their partner's sleeping habits particularly annoying.
