Spare rooms set to be transformed into home gyms?
06/01/2011
It is the time of year when many people will be removing divan beds from their guest rooms and transforming the space into a home gym.
The majority of homeowners will have a room that has become the ideal area for dumping junk, explained the Seattle Times, so the New Year gives ample opportunity to have a clear out.
Ruth Tara, owner of New York-based Home Gym Design, told the news provider: "I like people to be creative in their gym. Otherwise, it becomes a boring place to be. You want to make it as motivating as you can."
She emphasised that people have different preferences as to what equipment they want to install once their double beds have been moved out of the room.
This follows a study from PC World showing that bedrooms are fast turning into hubs for using gadgets, as people take their mobile phones and laptops to bed with them.
