Consider bed hygiene in 2011
05/01/2011
There is no better time to consider the hygiene of divan beds than at the start of the New Year, voxy.co.nz has suggested.
With people spending an estimated third of their lives in bed, it is important to make sure mattresses and bedding are as clean as possible.
It is easy to forget how much people perspire, the article revealed, which can make the bed environment unhygienic if it is not cleaned regularly.
"Asthma and allergies like hay fever and sinusitis, or even more serious conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis can all be irritated or triggered by poor bed hygiene," explained David Kaplan chief executive officer of Protect-A-Bed.
He emphasised that small steps to improve hygiene can make a massive impact on an individual's health, so it is worth taking the time to consider how to achieve this.
It was recently said by the Sydney Morning Herald that the routine people adopt before getting into bed is often more important than they realise.
