Bedrooms ''turning into webrooms''
05/01/2011
Almost two hours per night is spent lying in bed playing with electronic gadgets such as laptops, research from PC World has found.
Among the most popular pursuits are playing computer games, watching TV online and surfing the internet, the findings seen by the Press Association show.
"Technology has become such an important focus and pastime in our lives that we now spend more time using it at home than we do anything else, even ahead of eating, sleeping and working," commented PC World spokeswoman Anina Castle.
The company indicated that the bedroom is turning into a webroom as it is now used for far more than just sleeping.
Earlier this week, many iPhone users got an unexpected lie-in after the alarm on their handsets failed to go off.
This was despite assurances from Apple that the problem would be rectified ahead of the start of the working week.
