King size beds ''have various merits''
04/01/2011
King size beds are growing in popularity for a variety of reasons, an article has said, not least because they provide more space.
As people are generally getting bigger - and wanting more personal space - the Guardian explained that standard double beds are just not large enough for some.
Author of the article Lucy Mangan explained that her bed is "beautiful beyond words", giving her plenty of room to enjoy a great night's sleep.
She explained that it is more comfortable than her previous bed, mainly because she is not woken by her husband in the middle of the night as he tries to get on the mattress.
Furthermore, Ms Mangan suggested that her partner's snoring is also no longer an issue.
The Wall Street Journal recently explained that adjustable beds are now being promoted to younger generations as retailers hope to shed their traditional image.
