Guest room conversions ''needn''t be complicated''

Transforming a guest room into a space people want to stay in does not have to be complicated, a design expert has said.
It is far too easy to get carried away with a project such as this, suggested Marc Atiyolil in a piece for yourhome.ca, so people must know when to stop themselves.
"Maybe we should tear that wall down and turn this into an entire oasis for guests?" he suggested that some people say to themselves, which is really not the right approach to take.
Keeping the design simple is the best option, he noted, so all people really need to invest in when it comes to furniture is a bed and two side tables.
Accessories can liven up the room, but sticking to a neutral colour scheme is preferable, Mr Atiyolil added.
The Calgary Herald recently recommended that simple gestures such as miniature toiletries can make a real impression on guests over the festive season.
