Simple bedroom gestures make a good impression

Once the guest room has been tidied and the divan bed is made, there are other simple ways people can make their visitors feel welcome this Christmas.
The Calgary Herald recommended that adding a fresh evergreen wreath to the bedroom can make it feel especially festive at this time of year.
Furthermore, adding a decanter of water with some orange slices can contribute to the festive theme, as can giving them a stocking of miniature toiletries to use.
"Guests will love seeing old photos of a previous visit or a special memory. Place them on the dresser or nightstand," the article continued.
It also suggested that giving people plenty of room to unpack is essential, with a luggage rack making the whole process easier.
Interior designer Nina Campbell recently told iol.co.za that sofa beds can often be uncomfortable and should be avoided for guests wherever possible.
