Social networking in bed grows in popularity

People are refusing to stop social networking after they go to bed, a new study from Travelodge has found.
It discovered that 72 per cent of adults will update their profiles from bed, spending an average of 16 minutes per night doing so.
The peak time for carrying out such activities was identified as 9:45am, with 18 per cent of people tweeting and one in five checking on their favourite celebrities using Twitter.
Texting is also a common bed pursuit, with the average Briton spending around nine minutes per night sending messages before trying to get off to sleep.
Psychologist Corinne Sweet commented: "Like all things there is a time and place and social networking should not take place between the sheets as it can be detrimental to our wellbeing."
It was recently revealed by Travelodge that books about Simon Cowell, Ant and Dec and Vince Cable are among the most discarded in UK hotel rooms.
