Kids need sleep to succeed at school

Sleep is as important as ever for children at this time of year as they start heading back to school.
This is according to the Daily Reflector, which emphasised that there is more to a successful return to the classroom than having the right equipment.
"The lack of sufficient sleep has been linked to a variety of physical and emotional problems in both kids and adults," the article explained.
It added that there are so many difficulties associated with not getting enough rest, including memory loss and childhood obesity.
The piece emphasised that parents need to impose strict limits on the use of technology at bedtime, such as texting friends late into the night and reducing time spent on the computer.
An article for the Globe and Mail Update recently described getting children into a school sleep routine as "no easy task" and suggested that it should be rehearsed as early as possible.
