Duvet day proves an adventure for kitten
27/08/2010
One kitten recently got more than it bargained for after taking to a duvet for a moment's relaxation.
Six-week old Fudge clambered into the tumble dryer after spotting a particularly appealing item of bedding, the Weston Mercury reports.
However, her owner Alesha Boon didn't realise her feline friend had taken refuge in the machine and proceeded to put the bedding on to spin.
It wasn't until Alesha removed the duvet cover that she realised Fudge had been on an adventure, with her owner worried that the kitten had not lived through her ordeal.
She told the paper: "I started rubbing Fudge's tummy and she started breathing, but really fast."
Thankfully the kitten pulled through, but Alesha was quick to warn other pet owners of the dangers of leave their tumble dryers open.
Researchers from Amsterdam recently suggested that being close to friends replicates the feeling of being under a duvet cover.
