Parents ''must be attentive at bedtime''

It is important for parents to give their children the attention they need at bedtime, research shows.
Findings from Douglas M Teti, a professor of human development, psychology and pediatrics at Pennsylvania State University, reveal that parents need to be calm.
By keeping composed, parents will see the benefits throughout the day, the Washington Post reports, which is the case for both younger and older children alike.
"Try to be sensitive and warm. What''s the alternative? To lose your temper? I don''t see that helping anything," he told the paper.
Professor Teti highlighted that by establishing a calming routine that involves a relaxing bath, reading a book or even listening to soft music, the results will be worthwhile.
Researchers at the West Virginia School of Medicine recently found that seven hours sleep is the ideal amount for adults as it helps improve health and improve alertness throughout the day.
