Setting a routine has positive impact on sleep
12/07/2010
Anyone who finds themselves struggling to sleep needs to establish a routine, it has been claimed.
Feeling tired puts people off doing exercise, which in turn is bad for their overall health, noted Wales Online.
It stated that both the body and the heart alike need sleep in order to function properly, so action must be taken to ensure this happens.
The article suggested that people "avoid stimulants such as tea, coffee and alcohol in the evening, go for a hot milky drink or herbal tea instead".
Furthermore, avoiding heavy meals before bed time and instead opting for a lighter dinner can also make a difference, it revealed.
It was recently suggested in an article for Yahoo! Health that opting for oatmeal with sliced banana, or even sesame seeds, can have a real positive impact on people''s ability to sleep.
These both produce chemicals in the body that people need to rest effectively, it emphasised.
