Unusual food choices may aid sleep Opting for some unusual food choices can help a person get to sleep at night, it has been suggested.

An article for Yahoo! Health claimed that a glass of hot milk before bed may not be the best option, despite the age-old belief.

One of the better choices is oatmeal with sliced banana, the article revealed, as it is rich in melatonin that is essential for calming the body down at bedtime.

Another great snack option is a pile of sesame seeds, which are rich in sleep-inducing amino acid tryptophan, it continued.

Pretzels, on the other hand, are great sources of carbohydrates that have the ability to make a person feel sleepy, therefore helping them along their way when they get into bed.

Earlier this month, nutrition expert Sara Stanner told the Daily Telegraph that having a sensible diet can go a long way in helping a person get a decent night''s sleep.
