Get kids involved with bedroom design
05/07/2010
Children should be given some creative input in decorating their bedrooms, it has been suggested.
The Creston News Advertiser advised getting the child to help decide on the colour palette for the room, as well as a theme.
A youngster may want their bedroom to reflect their favourite hobby, for example, so getting their ideas will help them realise the space really belongs to them, it said.
The article stated that children are likely to have firm opinions on their beds, so they should be given the opportunity to help choose one that works for them.
It continued: "As a parent, you want to be sure her bed is comfortable and practical - essential factors if she''s going to get a good night''s sleep in it. And adequate rest is a must for all kids."
Design expert Marc Atiyolil recently told Canada.com that colour should be the main consideration when designing a new bedroom.
