Bedroom should be a place of calm
25/06/2010
Bedrooms need to be places of ultimate calm and serenity, so décor must be carefully chosen, an interior design expert has suggested.
The bedroom is the most important room of the house and should therefore be the prime focus of any redecorating project, YourHome columnist Marc Atiyolil said.
He told the Star: "The bed will be the most prominent and largest piece in the room.
"The eye will be instantly drawn to it; therefore the use of an accent colour on the headboard will help accentuate it."
Mr Atiyolil highlighted that if a bed does not have a headboard already, one can be created through creating paint effects on the wall.
He added that the bedroom is a very personal space, so redesigning it should be a personal process.
Similar comments were recently made by paris-link-home.com, which said that designing the bedroom should be given careful consideration.
